In the dark all over again

Well, Rita sent some storms our way and when the sun came back out, the power went off and has been off for hours. Good thing we did not fill the fridge and freezer back up completely. I have a few hours of time on my laptop battery and luckily this time the phone lines did not go down, so I used my old dial-up access.

The candlelight is nice, but I would really rather be watching the TiVO. I was really looking forward to catching up on some mindless TV like Buffy, Angel and Andromeda and doing a little stitching. Besides with the power out, it gives me too much time to think about how much I itch. Yes, I have managed to get what I think is poison ivy yet again. This time it is confined to a small area and with luck, it won't spread too much and I can avoid another round of steroids.

But please don't think I am complaining, because I am not! We did go out to eat and made a run by Sam's for gas, TP and other essentials It is so different from a few weeks ago!

I have been working on a project for my friends in the Crazy Gathering group. Making something special for everyone's birthday. I don't want to spoil the surprise, so I won't go into detail or show any photos. I have only done three so far, but they are getting better each time I make one.

I also made some other things, like a wrist distaff with faux and real pearls and swarovski crystals for the swap on Spindlers. I have not done a lot of spinning since Katrina, but I hope to get back into the mood soon. I did however make a really cute orifice threader! Of course, considering how I feel about beads and wire, that is no big surprise. If the power comes back tomorrow, I will do my best to post a picture.

I really appreciate that so many of you were worried about me. It is good to have friends!
