What A Long Strange Trip It's Been

These photos are of the studio.  I was able to start moving in the last day of July, 2004, part way through a nearly three year remodel and repair process.  Moving in took forever, since we only moved things over on the weekends.  The studio was furnished and ready for its first stitching event just after Thanksgiving 2005.  It has come a long way along with the rest of the house.

Turning it around.  I came back from Texas in June 2006 with the idea to reverse the set-up of my room, putting all the chairs against the window to better utilize the natural light.  I moved the cutting tables and ironing board into the middle of the room.

These are the letter-sized drawers.  I keep ribbon, motifs, wool thread and other miscellaneous items in these.

These are the new 12 x 12  drawers.  They were made for scrapbookers, but they are great for thread!

Caron Water Lilies and Wild Flowers, various cottons.

DMC Flower Thread.

Needle Necessities and other over-dyed cotton and floss.

Since I stitch for long hours, I decided I needed at least two comfortable chairs for handwork.  I was looking at recliners, but since I am 5' 4", most of them were not well suited to my build.  After trying three furniture stores and not locating one decent sofa for stitching, I decided to buy four wing back chairs for this space.  I also have three oak chairs in the room and six folding chairs are available for additional seating.

All of my Inspirations and Australian Embroidery and Cross Stitch Magazines.

Storage Closet - notice that it is not bright yellow. Since this is a closet, we left the original paint and carpet.

Can I ever sort through and organize all of this?
